Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Preliminary draft — under review by legal counsel.
1. Acceptance of the terms
These terms govern your use of the Storyjamas app and website (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms.
The service is intended for adults who create stories for the children in their care. You must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to enter into a contract in order to use the service. The child has no account and does not interact with the service directly.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service.
2. Your account
An account is created with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for any activity carried out through your account.
You will tell us without delay if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You may not transfer the account to another person without our written consent.
You can delete your account at any time from settings. Deleting the account permanently removes your stories, the child profile and the associated data, as described in the privacy policy.
3. Payments and subscriptions
The service offers a free trial of five stories, with the character Mimi from the Pisicel universe. The trial is once per account and does not renew. Re-reading stories you have already generated always remains free and unlimited.
After the trial, full access is available by subscription: €7.99 per month or €59.99 per year. The subscription unlocks all universes and a number of new stories per cycle, according to the plan chosen at the time of purchase.
You can cancel the subscription at any time from settings. Cancelling stops automatic renewal at the end of the current cycle; you keep access until then. We charge no cancellation penalty. Refunds are granted in accordance with applicable consumer-protection law.
The service may offer print-on-demand orders for your stories. These orders are produced and delivered separately, at the prices and under the conditions shown at the time of the order. Payment processing will be handled by a third-party processor; we do not store your full card details.
4. Generated content
The stories created through the service, starting from the theme you choose, belong to you as a reading experience for your family. You may read, export and, within the limits of these terms, print these stories for personal, non-commercial use.
The universes, the recurring characters (such as Mimi, Lupi, Lulu, Lumi), the illustrations, the visual style and the materials that make up the universes remain the intellectual property of Storyjamas. Your right to read and use the stories within your family does not transfer to you ownership of the characters or the universes.
You may not use the characters, universes or illustrations for commercial purposes, resell them, or redistribute them outside the service, except where explicitly permitted by these terms or by a publication that you initiate yourself (see the Publishing section).
Automatically generated content may contain inaccuracies. The service applies a safety-review process, but the responsibility of reading the story together with your child remains yours.
5. Publishing
Your stories are private by default. Publishing is a separate action that you initiate explicitly, choosing a visibility level: private, with family, with a link, or public.
When you publish, you also choose a licence. The visibility level and the licence become fixed for the published version: they cannot be changed retroactively after publishing. You may withdraw a story from publication, but this does not revoke uses already permitted under the licence chosen at the time of publishing.
Every story goes through a safety re-audit before becoming publicly accessible. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw the publication of content that breaches these terms or child-safety standards.
If you create a public author profile, you choose a handle. The handle and the web address (slug) of a published story become stable after the first publication, so that links already shared are not invalidated.
6. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your account from settings.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, endangers child safety or the security of the service, or uses the service fraudulently. Where reasonable, we will notify you in advance and give you the chance to remedy the situation.
On termination, access to the service stops. You can export your stories before deletion. The provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
7. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service working correctly and safely, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every generated story will match your expectations exactly.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under applicable mandatory law, nor liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. As a consumer, you also benefit from the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence in the European Union, which cannot be set aside by contract.
Disputes are settled by the courts having jurisdiction under the law. Alternatively, you may use the European online dispute-resolution platform provided by the European Commission.
We may update these terms. We will notify you of significant changes by a reasonable means, and continuing to use the service after the changes take effect means you accept them.
